March - Introducing Zinc

Zinc Garden is a new home and garden shop opening this Spring on East Baltimore Pike in Kennett Square. Previously Home & Garden Culture, Zinc Garden will be offering a variety of high quality and unique home and garden goods to customers.

Zinc Garden will also welcome GreenRoots Landscaping with its own, onsite design studio within the Zinc shop. We want to give Zinc a huge shoutout for this great opportunity to offer our design services through the shop alongside their merchandise. We hope you will stop by Zinc or check out their website to see what they have to offer and we can’t wait to have Zinc as an asset for our customers' home and garden needs indoors and out!

December - Make your own wreath at home

This season likely looks different than most. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t embrace the festive! An evergreen wreath brings all of “the feels.”

We have given this tutorial before, but while we are all staying home more than normal it seems like a great time to revisit and learn how to make a beautiful diy Christmas wreath that we can all make from the comfort of our own homes!

October - Did you say fire pit?

Bring the blankets and the hot cider! Fall is officially here and I think that means we can officially call it fire pit/outdoor fireplace season! Autumn is the perfect time to enjoy a fire pit. The nights have cooled off but we aren’t ready to give up on staying outside. The temperature is still perfect! The perfect solution is a fire pit or fireplace carefully designed in a backyard retreat to spend a cozy night fireside!

September - 2020 Mushroom Festival is canceled

In case you haven’t already heard, the Mushroom Festival for 2020 is canceled due to COVID19. First and foremost we wanted to make sure you all know since we have first met many of you at the festival and those we have know from before we often get to catch up with at the festival as well. We will miss the hang out opportunity and being able to meet new members of our community as well. It is truly a community bonding experience for us. We love coming together as a team and building something to draw your eye in and give you a glimpse of what we can achieve while being surrounded by all of Kennett Square.

August - Outdoor Lighting

August - Outdoor Lighting

Lighting is the finishing touch to any outdoor space. We always recommend lighting for every project that we do but it is usually one of the first things our clients take off of their estimate. While we understand, we do have a quick internal moment of disappointment! Because lighting, at the end of the day, will set your space apart and gives your space ambiance for all 12 months of the year! Can we convince you to leave it on your estimate?

July = Heat

We send out an email every year in July reminding our customers that their plants are thirsty! Even with plants carefully picked for our climate, the brutally hot days can take a toll on our plants. They will need extra care and attention to make sure they have enough water to get them through heat waves.

Is Landscape Design worth the money?

Is Landscape Design worth the money?

If you’ve been reading our blogs for almost any amount of time, you’ve probably heard us say, we always recommend starting with an excellent design. I think most people would readily agree until they hear dollar signs. It is not that designs are expensive, we range from $500-$2500 depending on the scope of the project. But people give out free design/estimates? What is the difference from what we offer and what they are offering for free? In essence, are landscape design retainers worth the money? What’s the difference between us and “the other guys?”
